Jamie comes to the National Travel Center with on-the-ground experience in both economic development and Main Streets. She is the former Director of the Northeastern Nevada Economic Development District in Elko, NV, one of the largest economic development districts in the United States as 44,000 square miles. In addition to developing strategies to fund infrastructure projects throughout the district, she also served on the housing committee for the largest gold mine in the United States to address their workforce housing shortage. The innovative approach included creating a 501c3 to construct appropriate housing.
She also served as the Executive Director of the Pushmataha County Chamber of Commerce in Oklahoma, where she established relationships with surrounding counties and the Choctaw Nation to increase collaboration. Prior to that, Jamie interned at the Yukon 66 Main Street Association in Yukon, OK.
The results of her work include growing Chamber membership by 15% within a very short period, conducting research and presenting the findings of a retail analysis, asset mapping Main Street buildings, developing of a small business workshop, serving as an overall business manager for the non-profit operations, and using remote management services to assist small businesses to thrive.
