In this section, National Travel Center is going to show off a bit. We clearly understand that traditionally, DMMOs have not been responsible for developing new visitor experiences and tourism offerings. Since most suppliers only want to focus on offerings that bring them business, it becomes up to DMMOs to create those that feature the whole community.
Doing so is very important because new experiences are what visitors are seeking. Trip Advisor indicates that nearly 70% of visitors plan to try something new in the coming year. Nearly half chose their experiences based on the culture and heritage of the region they were visiting. One in three visitors plan to spend more on travel in the coming year, not because prices are rising, but because they want to have different and more unique experiences.
One of the most important things a DMMO can do is create and deliver pre-designed itineraries, trails, and other ways for visitors to explore a community and surrounds. Having done the visitor’s research for them, they make saying yes to a visit easy.
Make no mistake great experiences with made to order moments can be challenging to create. If they were easy, every community would have them. Plus, the experiences have to be refreshed, rethought, and rejuvenated every so often so, the magic does not disappear.
To assist with this situation, we at National Travel Center not only give advice on how to create the new experiences and tourism offerings visitors want. Working together with communities, we have a long track record of developing them, having created hundreds, if not thousands of new experiences, trails, detailed itineraries, driving tours, walking tours, tour programs, travel package collections, and even Scenic Byways in communities across America.
